Essential Oils for Stress and Tension
You may already be using your essential oils to help with symptoms from stress and tension.
Here are a few blends to try….
MASSAGE BLEND
2 ounces sweet almond carrier oil
10 drops lavender essential oil
6 drops Roman chamomile essential oil
4 drops sandalwood essential oil
4 drops ylang-ylang essential oil
1 drop neroli essential oil
- Pour the sweet almond carrier oil into a small glass or ceramic bowl.
- Add the lavender, Roman chamomile, sandalwood, ylang-ylang, and neroli essential oils to the carrier oil, and stir to combine.
- Pour the blend into a dark-colored glass bottle that closes tightly, and store the bottle in the refrigerator between uses.
- Using your fingertips, apply this blend to the affected area, and massage it into the skin.
- Repeat this once a day as needed.
BATH BLEND
4 ounces sweet almond carrier oil
20 drops lavender essential oil
12 drops Roman chamomile essential oil
8 drops sandalwood essential oil
8 drops ylang-ylang essential oil
2 drops neroli essential oil
- Pour the sweet almond carrier oil into a small glass or ceramic bowl.
- Add the lavender, Roman chamomile, sandalwood, ylang-ylang, and neroli essential oils to the carrier oil, and stir to combine.
- Pour the blend into a dark colored glass bottle that closes tightly, and store the bottle in the refrigerator between uses.
- Run a warm bath. While the water is running, add 1 to 2 teaspoons of the blend to the tub.
- Soak for at least 15 minutes, or until you feel less tense.
DIFFUSER BLEND
10 drops lavender essential oil
6 drops chamomile essential oil
4 drops sandalwood essential oil
4 drops ylang-ylang essential oil
1 drop neroli essential oil
- Add the lavender, chamomile, sandalwood, ylang-ylang, and neroli essential oils to the water in your diffuser.
- Turn the diffuser on, and allow it to run for at least 15 minutes.
- Repeat this 2 times a day until you feel more relaxed.
SPRAY
2 ounces distilled or filtered water
10 drops lavender essential oil
6 drops chamomile essential oil
4 drops sandalwood essential oil
4 drops ylang-ylang essential oil
1 drop neroli essential oil
- Pour the water into a glass spray bottle.
- Add the lavender, chamomile, sandalwood, ylang-ylang, and neroli essential oils to the water, and shake well to blend.
- Spritz the blend in any room in your home, as often as you like, until you feel more relaxed.
