Benefits of CBD Oil Massage

CBD oil has become one of the most popular ingredients in therapeutic oils and alternative medicines.

I’ve been doing a lot of reading on the benefits of CBD oil.

And the other day I asked myself, “I wonder what it can do if it were used in a massage?”

Before we go into our topic lets discuss what is CBD oil?

CBD (Cannabidiol) is one of many molecules produced by the cannabis family.  But unlike THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) which is the primary psychoactive element in marijuana, CBD oil is a non-psychoactive.

Which means it’s not going to give you that high that marijuana does.

CBD oil is most commonly known to help with pain, inflammation, and anxiety.  Dr. J Hampton Atkinson, co-director of the Center for Medical Cannabis Research (CMCR) at the University of California, San Diego said, “There is a great deal of interest in the possible therapeutic effects of CBD, but there is very little evidence of efficacy.”

Which up until now that has been true!

Due to the legalization efforts, medical science is getting a much more detailed perspective on this plant. According to ClinicalTrials.gov, a federal database of accredited clinical trials worldwide, there are about 150 trials in progress that are testing CBD as a treatment for a wide variety of health conditions, including autism, alcoholism, skin conditions and schizophrenia.

So what’s the difference between a regular massage and CBD Oil Massage?

The massage itself is just like any other massage but you’ll find that your therapist will start where the skin is the thinnest.  The reason they do that is anything you put onto your skin gets absorbed directly into the blood stream.

As your therapist works the CBD oil into your skin, not only does it get absorbed directly into your bloodstream but it also gets absorbed by your fat cells and muscles. From there, it targets over 50 molecular pathways and changes the way your body’s endocannabinoid system receives signals.

To put it simply, it can help you relax during your massage and stay relaxed long after your appointment is over. Which is good news for those who have a hard time relaxing.  I know there have been some times where I’ve got a massage and due to the events of the day I had a hard time relaxing and would tense up without realizing it.

What are the benefits of CBD Oil Massage?

1. Helps your body relax

2. Helps with recovery

3. Releases tension

4. Stress relief

One of the biggest benefits CBD oil whether using with or without a massage is stress relief.  Many people who suffer from chronic stress and anxiety claim that CBD helps them relax. And some people are even pushing traditional pharmaceuticals to the side, after using CBD for an extended amount of time.

But please use with caution!

CBD oil can do many things but always consult with your medical doctor before using CBD oil or using it as an alternative to medication.

5. Pain Management

When CBD oil is introduced into the massage your body has an easier time relaxing.  People who suffer from chronic back pain have said that adding CBD oil to their massage offers relief that they wouldn’t normally feel with a regular massage.

6. Ease Sore Muscles

Did you know?

CBD has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties which is similar to aspirin.

CAUTION!!!

Always consult with your medical doctor before using large quantities of CBD oil or using it as an alternative to medication.
