The Egyptians also believed in the healing power of touch and used massage as a form of preventative medicine to maintain good health and prevent illness.

In ancient Egypt, massage was performed by specialized therapists and was often incorporated into religious ceremonies. Massage was also used to prepare the body for mummification and was believed to help preserve the body for the afterlife.
